The Gecama wind farm (Cuenca) is the largest wind farm in Spain built in a single phase, with a surface area of 8,000 hectares.
The project brought about a considerable improvement in the Spanish economy and created some 800 jobs during the construction phase. It will also save 150,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
